Woodhouse Day Spa

While I’m not much of a day spa kind of guy, I certainly could be persuaded to be one thanks to the Woodhouse Day Spa. I recently produced a promotional video for them and I instantly became a believer! I’m not kidding, this place is AMAZING. It is actually like stepping into another world. The sights, the sounds, the aromas in the air, all five senses are truly taken over the moment you walk in. Everyone there goes above and beyond to make sure your visit is memorable and your expectations are exceeded. The menu of services is quite extensive and includes some rather unique treatments such as the Vichy Shower, something you have to see to believe. I highly recommend checking the Woodhouse out, there’s really nothing like it in the area. Click here to watch the video!

Flattered!

So I checked my web activity yesterday and found that I had 50+ visits from a video production website, which shamefully, I’ve never heard of. I did some investigation and found there was a post on the forum from another video producer who was interested in knowing how I did something they saw on my demo page. I instantly picked up the phone. If I can help someone grow and learn new things, then it only strengthens the field as a whole. I’m extremely flattered by their appreciation and the posts on this forum that gave praises for my work. I’m just fortunate to do what I do, to create something for someone that has an emotional impact on them. But to have another person in my field comment on my work, really means alot. I was happy to help and in the process I’ve learned about another resource that I can use in the future and I’ve also made a friend.

Laney + Cal: Wedding Trailer

laneycalpc.jpg

Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many couples. I have to say that Laney and Cal, Doug, Dave (he’s a man of many names!), were one of my favorites! Very fun and laid back. Their dog Housch, is a huge Mastiff that loves to pick on their poor kitty, CJ. Can I get a WHO DEY!! Laney and Cal were nice enough to be my guinea pigs for a couple new ideas I had. They were seen racing for the garage in my Save the Date trailer and later explained to me how they met, fell in love, became engaged as part of my Instant Replay video. Putting the Instant Replay together was incredibly fun. I had to get their ceremony highlights edited and on a large projection screen before dinner. I managed to get it done before they even arrived at the reception, so I decided to include some shots of their reception as well. I can honestly say that night was the highlight of my professional career. I had guests coming to me throughout the night commenting on how amazing and unique it was. Laney and Cal made the video AMAZING. They were so much fun to interview and shoot and I really appreciate them believing in me and allowing me to try out such a radical idea at their wedding! Cal told me later that night that “I was the perfect fit for them and they were the perfect fit for me”. I couldn’t agree more. Reece Booth was there as my photographic counterpart and was incredibly easy to work with and was skillfully capturing the moments of the event! Jason of Hey Mr. DJ was an amazing MC and made sure the floor stayed packed! Here’s a trailer I’ve produced for them, their video will be delivered very soon! Laney/Cal Trailer.mov. Susan + Craig: Wedding Trailer

susancraigpc.jpg

Ok, so now that you know a little bit more about me, I’d like to share with you what I’ve been working on. I’ve started producing movie style trailers as a sneak peek of the final videos. This particular one is for Susan & Craig who got married at St. Cecilia in Oakley and had the reception at the Green Acres Art Center in Indian Hill. Their photographer, Mark Staff, who was flown in from Hilton Head, South Carolina is absolutely amazing and was great to work with. The whole event was masterfully orchestrated by Brigid Horne-Nestor of I-do Weddings & Events. Susan and Craig had a live band at the reception that kept it going all night long, playing songs you don’t typically hear at a reception, including a few from a personal favorite of mine, Journey! Craig even went into an air guitar solo! Check out the trailer and let me know what you think! Bishop/Samuel Trailer. Please allow a few moments for the quick time video to load.

Let’s Get Personal!

mz077small.jpg

First of all, many many thanks to Hogan Lee for designing such an amazing site. I’d be more than happy to pass his information on to anyone who may be interested in his services.

So, I wanted this first post to give you a little more info on who I am besides a video producer. First and foremost, I’m a father and a fairly new one at that. My beautiful daughter Mya Frances was born on 5/6/07 and hasn’t stopped smiling! And at 7 months old, she already knows how to work dad over. Her bottom teeth just came in, the tops aren’t too far behind and she is learning how to sit up! Mya certainly wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for my amazing and beautiful wife of 3+ years, Reagan.

Reagan and I met at the television station where I got my start. I was just an intern at the time and we hit it off from the beginning. Funny story about us, we grew up about 2 miles from each other, went to the same high school a year apart and she even dated one of my friends in school. Heck, our dads were even friends in high school. We never met until I started my internship at the station, we’ve been married since 2004!

When my internship came to an end, I went back to school and got the call less than a year later about a commercial producer position available at the station, I got the job and can without a doubt say those were the most influential days of my life. I learned so much about writing, storyboarding, producing and directing and was given the creative freedom to have a vision and run with it. I started Glass Eye Video in 2004 while still working at the station and it got to where I could go full time with it, which I did in 2006.

It is so fullfilling to produce a video that will be shared for generations to come and to know that been given the ability and skills to bring joy to so many people. Its extremely rewarding! So when I’m not creating videos, I’m spending time with my incredible daughter, my beautiful wife and our rather large lab/wiemeranner mix named Guinness. I’m looking forward to continuing this blog and to give everyone a little insight into my life and the experiences I have with the many people I meet. Above is a picture of my daughter, Mya. We had our family pictures taken this past weekend by Nicole C. www.nicolecphotography.com. Visit her blog to view more pictures from our session.
