I can remember Dora Manuel of Viva Bella Events saying, ‘I want to do a trash the dress shoot’. I couldn’t believe my ears.  Here is one of the most sought after event planners in the area telling me she wanted to trash her dress six years after her wedding.  

Fast forward a couple months and she tells me she has a hair appointment and that Nancy with Brideface was going to do her makeup.  So the date was set.  That dress would find its way out of storage and once again Dora would be wearing it, only this time it wouldn’t stay clean for long.  Of course the super talented Kortnee and Ted of Simply Timeless Photography joined in for this one.  You can check out the amazing photos from the shoot in their blog.

We created some breathtaking art that day and at the end of it all, Dora was able to clean her dress and put it back into storage.  Only now, the dress has a whole new set of memories attached to it.  I hope you enjoy Dora’s Trash the Dress!

Two of my favorite things to produce are Same Day Edits and Trash the Dress films, both are incredibly unique and fun to create!  Danielle and Jon chose to do a Same Day Edit, where I produce a highlight of the day’s events from the preparations to the pre-ceremony and the ceremony itself and even parts of the reception that is shown during dinner. That in itself is always an amazing experience for the guests. They also wanted to do a Trash the Dress, where we produce these incredible images of the bride and groom in situations you wouldn’t normally expect to see them.

So I said, why not combine them to give the illusion that the Danielle and Jon actually trashed the dress and tux between the ceremony and reception. We shot the trash session last month and once again, Kortnee and Ted from Simply Timeless Photography were there to capture some beautiful art. The pictures can be seen on their site. 

There was a packed house at their reception on Saturday night anxiously awaiting the film on the big screen.  No one knew about the trash session with exception of Danielle and Jon so it was a really cool surprise. This was by far my favorite Same Day Edit and the response from their guests was incredibly overwhelming. I wanted to share it with you and I hope you enjoy!

To most people, The Taste of Cincinnati is an annual event held on the city’s streets, during Memorial Day weekend to showcase some of the area’s fine cuisine. Like I said, ‘to most people’. To me The Taste of Cincinnati was an incredible opportunity to trash a dress in the middle of the streets while hundreds of bystanders stood around with a beer in one hand, a grilled food of some sort in the other and mouths wide open, looking on in either complete horror or amazement or possibly a little bit of both. Once again, the incredible creative mind of Kortnee Miller met with foul play when she said these words to me, “Are you in”. Am I in? Are you kidding me? Where do I sign up! So the team of Simply Timeless Photography, Joyce Looby, and yours truly was assembled. Once it was determined that the ‘Taste’ was going to be the arena for our latest endeavor, press releases were sent out quicker than you can say ‘mustard stain’! Ryan and Ashley were absolutely AMAZING that day. They were up for anything we threw at them, literally! Dancing on a stage in front of a crowd of hundreds, crowd surfing, port o lets, nothing was too crazy. Local 12 was there to cover some of the events and we were all over the late night news! And at the end of the day, that white dress, well………

These are just a few of my favs, I can’t wait to see the rest! Absolutely AMAZING!!! We had such a great time that day, everything just fell into place and the stunning pictures are what its all about. I have been waiting so long to make this post! I shot a Trash the Dress over the weekend with some amazingly talented people and this certainly ranks up there with my favorites! I worked the the incredible Kortnee and Ted Miller of Simply Timeless Photography, who shared the same vision as me and brought so many fresh ideas to life! Joyce Looby, a fantastic video producer and friend was there to capture the events as well as the up and coming John Carney. Annette, the bride, was incredibly easy to work with and looked phenomenal. I couldn’t have asked to work with a better group of people and I’m so proud to present the first Trash the Dress video in Cincinnati. Enjoy!
