Here We Grow!
Wow! The team of Glass Eye Video is now one person stronger! It took me quite a while to find someone I felt shared the same passion for video and film production as I do and I’m so pleased to announce the addition of Josh Emerson to Glass Eye Video! I met Josh a couple months ago when Kelly Ley Smith of Daphne Photo Studio introduced us, he wanted to help out with a Trash the Dress we were producing. Josh really hit the ground running that day and I could really see his commitment to nailing the shot, no matter what it took. I’m an incredibly passionate person and I absolutely LOVE what I do so I really took my time to find the right person who I believed shared the same values. 2009 is looking to be an incredible year for us and I’m so excited about what lies ahead with the new studio, new features to be announced soon, and now the new team member!
Comments (4)Stephanie + Ryan: The Trailer
Stephanie and Ryan had one of the most intimate weddings I’ve ever had the pleasure of filming. From the moment I first met Stephanie I could tell how important her family is to her and that became very evident on her wedding day. This was a wedding filled with their closest friends and family who came to celebrate with them as they begin their new lives together. When I heard they were doing a classic car photo shoot, I knew this one was going to be different. Varney Photography was there to make sure not a moment was lost and were a pleasure to work with. The details were incredible, down to the guests favors. Check out that bouquet! I’m not sure I’ve seen one more beautiful! This was an amazing Fall wedding and I’m honored to have documented it. I hope you enjoy their trailer!

Nicole + Britt: A Verdin Bell Trailer
Nicole and Britt were married on a beautiful September evening at the Bell Event Center and my good friends Kortnee & Ted of Simply Timeless Photography were along for the ride, and what a ride it was! Before the Ceremony, we had a SUPER SWEET photo shoot. The photo shoots are my favorite part of the day, its where I get to exercise my creativity and the sky’s the limit as far as what we can do. Walk on the suspension bridge during rush hour, done. Hang the dress in a tree on fountain square, done. The images that are created are like nothing you’d typically see in a wedding video. We’re creating art and preserving memories at the same time, its amazing. Britt and Nicole and the entire wedding party were a blast to work with and really helped breathe life into their trailer, I hope you enjoy!

GEV in the Big Easy!
Now that I’m caught up on emails and phone calls I wanted to tell you about my trip to New Orleans! I had signed up in the early spring for Re:Frame, a boutique style workshop where only 50 Cinematographers were in attendance. It was headed by some of the greatest studios in the world including, Kristen* of Bliss, Bruce of Cloud Nine Creative, Chris Jones of Mason Jar Films, Jason Magbanua, and Julie Hill of Elysium as well as many others! I waited, sometimes not very patiently, for October to get here so I could be a part of the first ever Re:Frame event! I had the incredible pleasure of meeting some people that I’ve talked to via emails or forums and I also met up with some old friends that I met in Orlando last January. After the seminars, we would hit Bourbon Street, which is nothing like anything I’ve ever experienced! Kortnee and Ted of Simply Timeless Photography were down there for a photography conference and we even met up the first night, it was insane to hang out with them outside of working together.
I learned SOOOO much about technique, business, the tools, everything I wanted to know about going to the next level and I couldn’t be more excited about the future. I’ve got some really unique features coming and I can’t wait to share them with you, so stay tuned!
Comments (2)Natasha + Antoine: The Same Day Edit at the Savannah Center
What an incredibly fun group! Natasha and Antoine had one of the greatest weddings I’ve had the privilege of filming this year. When I stepped into the bridal suite at the Savannah Center, I knew I was going to be in for a treat and they certainly didn’t disappoint! The day went off without a hitch thanks to Robbin at the Savannah Center and Natasha’s friend Stacy. The Ceremony itself was amazingly beautiful as candles lined the aisle and Antoine’s mom sang as Natasha walked down the aisle. Natasha and Antoine absolutely fell in love with the idea of the Same Day Edit and knew it had to be a part of their wedding, and if you follow this blog at all, you know how much I absolutely love to produce them. The response from their guests was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced and by the way Natasha jumped out of her chair and hugged me, I’m guessing she liked it too. I wanted to share it with you as well and I hope you enjoy it as much as they did!

Anna + Kevin: The Trailer
What an incredibly beautiful day for a wedding this turned out to be, everything just fell into place and it couldn’t have gone any better. From the preparations at the salon to the ceremony and on to the reception, everything was absolutely stunning. Anna and Kevin were so much fun to work with, I really enjoyed getting to know them and their families. Tine Hoffman of TM Photography was there to document the day as only she can and had some really great ideas that came to life on the golf course right before the reception. This was an amazing evening filled with friends and family and tradition, including the moment when Anna’s mom handed her bouquet to her. Congratulations Anna and Kevin, please enjoy your trailer.

Danielle + Jon: Trash the Same Day Edit at the Savannah Center
Two of my favorite things to produce are Same Day Edits and Trash the Dress films, both are incredibly unique and fun to create! Danielle and Jon chose to do a Same Day Edit, where I produce a highlight of the day’s events from the preparations to the pre-ceremony and the ceremony itself and even parts of the reception that is shown during dinner. That in itself is always an amazing experience for the guests. They also wanted to do a Trash the Dress, where we produce these incredible images of the bride and groom in situations you wouldn’t normally expect to see them.
So I said, why not combine them to give the illusion that the Danielle and Jon actually trashed the dress and tux between the ceremony and reception. We shot the trash session last month and once again, Kortnee and Ted from Simply Timeless Photography were there to capture some beautiful art. The pictures can be seen on their site.
There was a packed house at their reception on Saturday night anxiously awaiting the film on the big screen. No one knew about the trash session with exception of Danielle and Jon so it was a really cool surprise. This was by far my favorite Same Day Edit and the response from their guests was incredibly overwhelming. I wanted to share it with you and I hope you enjoy!

Drumroll…..
Notice anything different around here? Check it out! New logo, site, and blog! I really wanted to change things up here a bit to coincide with our move into the world of High Definition! Yep, we’re now filming everything in High Definition, and I couldn’t be more excited about it! Vivid colors, stunning clarity and widescreen format. We’ve actually been filming in HD for about a month now and you’ll start to see the new films hitting the blog soon, very soon! Check back later, I have something really sweet to share with you!
Many thanks to Greg with Raewell Graphics for the incredible job he did designing the new logo and marketing materials.
Comments (7)Glass Eye Update!
Alright, I’ll admit it, my blogging hasn’t been as frequent as I’d like it to be, but I wanted to give you an update about what’s going on here at GEV!
First of all, we’ve been selected by Style Me Pretty to be featured in their Little Black Book! This is a HUGE honor as they only select a few of the best in each city. How sweet is that!?!?! I’m in GREAT company too, with the likes of Viva Bella Events, TM Photography, and Simply Timeless Photography! The book is also filled with a ton of my Internationally known friends too! To be categorized with these companies is unbelievable!
Secondly, I got to shoot a wedding with Patrick Moreau of Still Motion, the super star of wedding cinematography and one of the Top 25 in the world! It was a real honor and an amazing experience to work side by side with him and Konrad in Columbus. I’ll share the trailer as soon as its available.
As if all that wasn’t enough, I’m moving into a new studio in a few weeks! Super sweet space that we are going to completely overhaul and I’ve got a couple things up my sleeve for it.
And lastly, there are some major changes coming to Glass Eye Video that we can’t wait to share. I don’t want to let the cat out of the bag just yet, but stay tuned!
Comments (5)The Greatest ‘Thank You’ Ever!!!!!!
So I open my front door on Monday to an unexpected package from UPS, the return address is the parents of the bride I had the pleasure of filming a couple weeks ago. Inside the box, was without a doubt the greatest ‘thank you’ I’ve ever received, its an antique movie projector, complete with movies and its fully operational! Crazy eh?! The movies that came with it were in their original boxes that had yellowed, dried out scotch tape holding them together. I couldn’t believe my eyes! Along with this amazing gift was an INCREDIBLE letter thanking me for doing such a great job with the Same Day Edit and for being such a pleasure to work with! A simple ‘thank you’ is always good to hear, but for Treva and Dan to take the time to find this and think of me, really means so much! I can’t wait to move into my new studio in November and this will certainly have a home there, next to the framed letter that came along with it!
